15/05/2015 - Trial for European Age Group Games

For many gymnasts, their main aspiration is to represent their country in international competition. Two of our gymnasts came one step closer to this dream today, when Callum Bungay and Alex Martin learnt that they have been invited to trial for the British Team that will compete in the European Age Group Games in Riesa, Germany later this year.

To be invited for a trial, gymnasts must impressed the National Coach, through their performance in competition and prove that they are capable of achieving the level of quality required to represent the country. With the fantastic standard of Acrobatics in Great Britain, the bar is set very high, so being invited for trial is a major achievement for both the gymnasts and their coach, the Head of Acrobatics at Southampton Gymnastics, Nathan Leworthy.

The Club would like to congratulate Callum, Alex and Nathan and to wish them every success as they begin their hard work in preparation for the first selection event on Sunday 7th June.
