Changes to Saturday Freestyle

Due to high demand and a wide range of abilities within our freestyle classes, we have decided to make a few changes to Saturday Freestyle. We will have three classes, based on ability and age – we hope these changes will provide an improved class structure, as well as providing more spaces.

It is important to highlight that Freestyle is a discipline within gymnastics, and our classes aim to provide the gymnasts the opportunity to learn new skills and tricks. All classes are led by qualified and experienced coaches.

Freestyle Structured Recreational class (aged 8 – 14)

16.30 – 17.30

This class is aimed at those gymnasts learning the basic skills required for Freestyle, plus anyone new to freestyle. Once the coaching team feels a gymnast is ready, they will invite them to move into the next appropriate class.

Freestyle – intermediate (aged 8 – 14 years)

17.30 – 19.30

This class is aim at those aged 8 to 14 years, the gymnasts will learn skills aimed at an intermediate skill level.

Freestyle – intermediate (aged 13 - 17 years)

19.30 – 21.30

This class is aim at those aged 13 to 17 years, the gymnasts will learn skills aimed at an intermediate skill level.

All new participants should attend our Freestyle Recreational class at 4.30pm on Saturday, where our coaching team will assess when people are ready to more onto the next class.

If you have any questions regarding Freestyle at Southampton Gymnastics Club, please contact our club office 02380 529952 or email admin@sotongym.co.uk.
