Coaching

Southampton Gymnastics has built up knowledge and experience in delivering great gymnastics over the past 45 years. Southampton Gymnastics was the first club in the country to establish and deliver preschool gymnastics, building to providing the coaches that have allowed tens of thousands of children the opportunity to participate in this fantastic sport. Following in our coaches predecessors footsteps that achieved the establishment of our great pre-school programmes, community gymnastics centres and coaches to many World, European and International Medallists, great coaching is still at the heart of the club.

We aim to nurture new and enthusiastic coaches as well as provide more learning opportunities along the way for those that have been in the game a little longer:

Formal Coach Education Scheme

Gaining British Gymnastics Coaching Awards can be an expensive business and we recognise not everybody has the finance to be able to start on the coaching path or indeed move up the ladder. As such any new or existing coach can apply to our new “Formal Coach Education Scheme” to have their coaching course paid for up front. In return for the clubs initial investment, the candidate can either nominate voluntary hours within their present working hours (if they are presently an employee) or dedicate a specified amount of voluntary hours per week if you are a volunteer or a new coach applying to work at Southampton Gymnastics (Terms and Conditions Apply). We look forward to supporting coaching careers through this new scheme.
